I'm thinking that we need to have a group hypnosis to change this gloomy weather!   After a challenging winter I'm ready for some warm sunshine.   My spirit lifts with a blue sky and and a balmy breeze - also when I put some music on - usually something with a beat.   My troubles can drift away for awhile and my attitude changes in a heatbeat!  Well I can't change the weather but I can change my attitude simply by being attentive to what simple things give me pleasure and making sure that I take the time or make the change that I need.
 
Times recently have been stressful for many of us so it is important to remember that a way to combat the negative  impact of stress in your life is self care.  Eliminate the unhealthy habit, learn a relaxation technique, get out and exercise.  You will feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually!

Well Spring has finally begun to make an appearance....just yesterday when I was leaving my house in the morning, the lilac had not even one bud on it.  By the time I returned later in the day, the entire bush was covered with buds. 
 
Spring is associated with new birth, Spring cleaning, and the sense of new beginnings.  It is a great time to make changes to your lifestyle - out with the old, in with the new.
 
Imagine yourself as having already accomplished your goal - walking outside on a beautiful day as a non-smoker or wearing a new outfit in your new slimmed down size.  Breathe in the feeling of peace and calm as you do an activity that used to stress you out.  See yourself in detail being the person you want to be.

I've added a new page to the site with links to some websites I've come across and find interesting, helpful or just fun.  My plan is to add to this list as things come my way that you might enjoy.
 
Goodnewsnetwork.org is just that - a website that has only stories that are of a positive nature.   If we want bad news there are tons of sites, newspapers and tv channels to choose from, so when a client of mine told me about this I couldn't wait to share it.
 
Life is busy, so when my local librarian told me about libraryelf.com I was thrilled.  No more
late fees for books and dvds!  She also mentioned goodreads.com which was right up my alley.   Being an avid reader and a list person, I like the idea of having a place to catalog every book I've ever read which this site allows you to do.  Not for everyone, I'm sure but when it's time to write your memoirs it will be easy to remember all your literary influences!
 
The video is very, very interesting, especially for those of us who are fascinated by how the human mind works.   Here the story about how "one morning, a blood vessel in Jill Bolte Taylor's brain exploded. As a brain scientist, she realized she had a ringside seat to her own stroke".   Her description of what happened is riviting.
 
Spring has officially begun though anyone out and about today is probably thinking more about winter scarves than Easter Bonnets!   But summer will soon be upon us, and it is a perfect time to make an appointment to lose those extra pounds before bathing suit season.

Greetings for the New Year!  I hope that you will have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2008!  
 
January is the time of year that we have great hopes for change in the areas of life that we have been dissatisfied with.   We examine our lives and make decisions on what we would like to change ... adopting healthier and more successful lifestyles ...  eating more healthy foods, getting out and exercising, being more punctual and organized, saving money for the future are just a few.  Maybe we have a few pounds to lose, maybe quite a few.  Perhaps our smoking habit is leaving us tired and out of breath.   And so the resolutions are made.  And often the resolutions fail, leaving us disappointed and discouraged.
